Author Joan Warren: Poetry – My Purpose

MY PURPOSE
It is my purpose to live,
Needing no credits, no applause.
To be not judged or others judge,
Living in truth and love with peace.

My mind is like a spring-fed pond,
Rippling with life across its surface.
And deep within its depths, so deep
I reach the stillness – I’ve longed to find.

Bent, hell-bent, to interrupt,
I silence the racing mind
I listen to the mind’s silence
And feel now of peace unstirred.

To live unseen and unknown
, free of the need to be seen or heard.
In meditation, I absorb truth’s energy
And live in truth and love with peace.

God’s presence with me is sure
as I live in truth and love with peace.
Thus my purpose is not to judge.
I am to be felt and known by truth and love.

God’s essence, I am here to glorify
In truth, I know and am known
Life and love and peace abide
Death knows no sting – eternity, behold.
